A graduate of Calvert City High School, he was retired from the U.S. Navy as a chief petty officer.
He also worked for GAF in Calvert City and later retired from ARAMCO in 1984.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret “Marty” Addison Hulen of Las Vegas and son Joe Pat Hulen of Sugar Land, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Gladys Dunn Hulen and Lex Hulen; sons David Lex Hulen and Michael Duffy; and sister Anna Marie Schill.
A memorial service with military honors will follow at a later date in the Briensburg Cemetery.
No visitation is scheduled.
