Jimmy was born in Lyon County on Oct. 7, 1943 to the late Calvin Orr and Jewell Hill Orr.
He was a 1961 graduate of Livingston County High School. Jimmy was the manager of Ingram Materials for 23 years. He was a member of Pisgah United Methodist Church in Grand Rivers and the Calvert City Country Club. He was a member of the Calvert City Masonic Lodge #543 and the Ancient & Accepted Scottish Rite of Freemasonry and the Rizpah Shriners in Madisonville.
Jimmy is survived by his wife of 48 years, Melissa Kettula Orr of Calvert City; three daughters, M. Jeannette Orr, Jennifer Orr Powell and her husband Jeff, all of Calvert City, and Julie Manganelli of Orlando, Fla.; six grandchildren, Jeremy Powell, Jenna Powell, Dylann Mandrell, Sydney Mandrell, Jacob Manganelli and Jayden Manganelli; his mother-in-law, Helen Kettula of Calvert City and two brothers, Jerry D. Orr of Gilbertsville and Justin Orr of Calvert City.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Reino Kettula and his brother-in- law, Patrick Kettula.
A celebration of Jimmy’s life will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, March 24, at the Calvert City Country Club, where Masonic rites will also be conducted. Friends may visit prior to the memorial service beginning at 1 p.m. on Sunday, March 24.
