James Timothy Tim Rudd, 56, of Benton passed away at 8:55 a.m., Tuesday, February 11 at his home.

Tim was a member of Owens Chapel Baptist Church. He was an avid member of the U.S. Trotting Association for Horse and Racing Shows. He was active in genetics for James Rudd Racing Stables, active member in the United Beagles Gun Dog Federation, AKC of North Carolina and involved in many AKC Shows and Trials. He was a coordinator for 4H shooting sports and involved in Orange Card for Hunter Education in Marshall County.

He is survived by his wife, Shelley McCallum Rudd of Benton; two daughters, Heather Wiles and her husband Travis of Benton and Toni Gamble and her husband Rustin of Herrin, Ill; two grandchildren, Madison Gamble and Levi Wiles; one sister, Myrna Odom of Fairdealing; several nieces and nephews; as well as several great and several great great nieces and nephews.

Tim was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, James Odom; and his grandparents, Yancy and Pearl Rudd and Hamilton and Ila Starks. His parents were James “John” Rudd and Josephine Starks Rudd.

Funeral services were held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, February 14 at Owens Chapel Baptist Church, 6504 Airport Road in Kirksey. Bro. James Stom officiated and burial followed in the Union Hill Cemetery.

Filbeck-Cann &King Funeral Home was in charge of all arrangements.
