James Earl McNeely, 78, of Aurora, died Monday, April 7 at his residence. He served in the US Army from 1954-56, during the Korean War era. He was formerly employed by Modine Manufacturing Co. in Paducah, and was a former prison guard at the KY State Penitentiary.

He was the son of the late Willie McNeely and the late Ella Jane (Rudolph) McNeely

He is survived by three sons; Michael McNeely of Smithland, James McNeely and wife Michelle of Benton and Robert McNeely and wife Lori of Benton, grandchildren; Cody, Caleb, Zach, Patience, John and Coraline.

He was preceded in death by one infant daughter, Mary McNeely and one grandson, Cory McNeely.

Arrangements were handled by Collier Funeral Home. Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 9. Rev. Raymond Lewis officiated. Internment followed in the Union Ridge Cemetery in Aurora.
