Jackie Lee Thompson, 83, of Benton died Wednesday, Aug. 29, at 8 p.m. at his home in Benton.
He was a chemical operator and warehouse manager for B.F. Goodrich Chemical Co. in Calvert City. A. U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War, he was a member of the First Missionary Baptist Church in Benton. He was also a lifetime member of Calvert City Country Club.
Son of Hugh Thompson and Eugena Sutherland Thompson, he is survived by his wife, Merry Sue McCuistion Thompson of Benton; sister Barbara Nell Logeman of Greenville, S.C.; daughter Catherine Lee Street of Hardin; sons Thomas Hugh Thompson and Timothy Dale Thompson of Port Allen, La.; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A celebration of life will be held Friday, Sept. 7, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Calvert City Country Club.
