BENTON– An Eddyville man was arrested last week in a local church parking lot after Marshall County deputies discovered heroine, money and a loaded weapon.

According to reports, Detective Don Tidwell had been conducting a narcotics investigation when he discovered Edward M. Ibold, 27, had active warrants in Kentucky and Ohio. Detective Tidwell, along with others at the Sheriff’s Office, observed the vehicle in the parking lot of the Briensburg Church of Christ. Officers made contact with Ibold and placed him under arrest for the warrants.

Officers then began to search the vehicle where 8 grams of a substance testing positive for heroin were found. Two foils containing an additional 2 grams were located in plain view in a cup holder along with three packs of Suboxone strips. Digital scales and a loaded 9mm handgun with the serial numbers altered was located beside the subject in the car.
