Gov. Steve Beshear handily defeated Republican opponent David Williams for a second term yesterday. Beshear finished with 56 percent of the vote. Williams brought in 35 percent and Gaitwood Galbraith finished with 9%.

In Marshall County Steve Beshear had 4639 votes; Williams 3183 and Galbraith 448.

Also victorious were Allison Lundergan Grimes for Secretary of State; Jack Conway for Attorney General; Adam Edelen for State Auditor; Todd Hollenbach, State Treasurer. Republican James Comer defeated Robert Farmer for Agricultural Commissioner. Many believe Farmer's ads poking fun at Kentuckians in a stand-up comedy routine cost him the election.
