Herbert “Herbie” A. Travis, III, 59, of Calvert City died on Monday, April 28 at his home. He worked as a heavy equipment operator for the Local 181 Union of Operating Engineers.

He was born Sunday, July 4, 1954 in Mayfield. He was the son of the late Herbert Travis Jr. and the late Gladys (Heater) Travis.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Belinda (Pickens) Travis of Calvert City, sons, Marvin Lee Travis, wife Jenny of Calvert City and Jarred Travis, wife Becca of Kirksey, sister: Tane Alexander, husband Bob of Almo and granddaughter, Kayla Travis of Calvert City.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his first wife, Carla Kaye (Rhymes) Travis.

Funeral services were held at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 1 at Collier Funeral Chapel. Bro. Terry Phelps and Chris Alexander officiated. Interment followed in Thompson Travis Cemetery in Smithland.
