Marshall County will present the fifth annual Gunner’s Magic Train Classic high school basketball tournament Friday and Saturday.
The tourney is a memorial tribute to Gunner Gillespie, son of MCHS coach Gus Gillespie and wife Janna, who died in 2008 at age 8 of brain cancer.
It also serves as a fundraiser to benefit research into pediatric cancer. Donations come from varoius sources, including a contribution made by the seniors basketball players at Crittenden County High School Saturday when the Marshals visited Crittenden for a game.
Three games are on tap for each evening of the tourney at Reed Conder Gymnasium. The Marshall County boys and girls will each play games against McCracken County and Cairo, Ill.
The Graves County boys will match up with Union City, Tenn., on Friday and will meet Hopkins County Central on Saturday.
