Mr. Grover Town Lovett, 94, of Murray passed away Thursday, October 17, at his home.

Born Wednesday, January 15, 1919 in Olive, KY., he was retired from B.F. Goodrich in Calvert City, where he served as Chief of Security. He was also a welder and was a member of the Alford Lodge # 925 in Aurora, where he had received his 70 year pin. He also served as Elder and Sunday School Superintendent at Unity Cumberland Presbyterian Church, he also honorably served his country during World War II in the United States Navy.

He is survived by his wife of 73 years, Dortha Mae (Burkeen) Lovett of Murray, also surviving are one son, Billy Joe Lovett, wife Rita of Murray, and one daughter, Sandra Cope of Benton, five grandchildren; Tona Walker, husband Barry of Calvert City, Tony Lovett, wife Sarah of Murray, Tina Cook, huband Timmy of Murray, Denny Cope, wife Amanda of Benton, and Jeff Cope of Benton, nine great-grandchildren; Cassie Thompson, husband Shane of Hardin, Clint Walker and Kelly Walker both of Calvert City, Hannah Lovett and Garrett Lovett and Corby Cook all of Murray and Denver Riley Cope, Ethan Colson and Trevor Ellenburger all of Benton, two great great-grandchildren; Tate Wilson of Hardin, and Cameron Cook of Murray.

He was preceded in death by his father, Oscar Lee Lovett, mother, Dollie Ann (Town) Lovett, son, Bobby Dale Lovett, son-in-law, Jerry Ray Cope, two brothers, D.A. Lovett and Wilburn Lovett, three sisters, Winnie Burkeen, Nellie Lovett and Evelyn Lovett.

Funeral services were held Monday, October 21, at Collier Funeral Home in Benton. Rev. Brian Hayes and Rev. James Lawson officiated.

The family asks that memorial contributions be made to the Unity Cumberland Presbyterian Church Building Fund.
