Gordon P. Hancock of Sarasota, Florida and formerly of Gilbertsville, passed into his heavenly father’s arms Tuesday, August 12. Gordon was a United States Army Veteran and retired from Air Products in Calvert City in 1999. He was an avid collector of antique and hot rod cars and loved softball and NASCAR.

Gordon is survived by his children Debra Hancock of Bradenton, Florida, Charles Hancock (Marilynn) of Princeton and Pamela (Scott) Stone of Sarasota, Florida. He is also survived by five grandchildren John Herdy of Bradenton, Florida; Jordon Stone of Denver, Colorado; Amanda Clark and family, Josh Hancock and family and Kayla Hancock and family all of Benton. He is survived by his brothers Joe Ray Hancock of LaFayette, Georgia,Tommy Hancock of Evansville, Indiana and sister Peggy Draffen of Benton.

He was proceeded in death by his loving wife, Mary Helen Venable Hancock. He was the son of the late Ray and Lorene Hunt Hancock.

Graveside services were held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, August 16 at Bethlehem Cemetery in Benton.

Expressions of sympathy should be made to the American Diabetes Association or the National Kidney Foundation.

Collier Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
