Gladys C. Tucker, 97, of Calvert City passed away at 11:35p.m. Thursday, August 8 at Baptist Health in Paducah.

She was a member of First Baptist Church of Calvert City. She retired from Tucker Ornamental Iron. She raised her family in Hobart, Ind. and was active in her children’s activities. She was a Girl Scout leader, Band Booster and a recognized duck rescuer at Lake George. She loved genealogy, ballroom dancing and Facebook. She was an active member of the Business of Professional Women’s Club.

She is survived by her children, John Kerr of Calvert City; Patrick Kerr of Sheridan, Ark.; Ray Tucker and wife Sheri of Calvert City and Jeanne T. Shaw and husband Timothy of Flemington, N.J.; 19 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Tucker; one daughter, Kathleen Ann Tucker Thomson; two brothers; two sisters and her step-mother, Annie Lou Christian. Her parents were Benton Christian and Virginia Elizabeth Wright Christian.

Funeral services were held at 10:00a.m. Monday, August 12 at Filbeck-Cann & King Funeral Home. Rev. Jim Ewing officiated and burial followed in the Marshall County Memory Gardens.
