Gilbertsville Man killed in Saturday collision

GILBERTSVILLE– A Gilbertsville man was killed in a motorcycle crash Saturday. George Goulet, 35, was pronounced dead at Marshall County Hospital after his motorcycle collided with a pickup truck driven by Dwayne Glendening, 44.

According to reports, Glending was waiting for another car to pass before entering a driveway along Tatumsville Highway. He saw black tire smoke coming from the Goulet’s motorcycle in an apparent attempt to stop before it collided with the truck.

Goulet was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.

The wreck occured at approximately 2:50 p.m. The roadway was shut down for nearly an hour to allow for cleanup and reconstruction of the accident.

Deputies Jeff Daniel, Cory Curtner, William Strader, and Eddie McGuire responded as well as Marshall County Sheriff’s Office Accident Reconstructionist Nathan Maxlow.
