Francis H. Hibbs, 94, of Benton, died Monday, Oct. 8, 2012, at Western Baptist Hospital in Paducah.
Son of Bill Hibbs and Burl Manley Hibbs, he was a member of Sharpe Baptist Church. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. Mr. Hibbs was a Purple Heart recipient.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Willis Hibbs; daughters Linda Sledd of Paducah, Mary Bohlebe0 of, Gilbertsville and Judith Vied of Delray Beach, Fla.; sons Stanley Ray Hibbs and Roger Hibbs of Benton, Hugh Hibbs of Calvert City and Larry Hibbs of Symsonia; 12 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by brothers Roy D. Hibbs and Nathan Hibbs and sisters Estil Dawes and Corine Burden.
The funeral service will be at Collier Funeral Chapel at 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 11, with Rev. Marlin Mitchell officiating. Interment with military honors will follow at New Hope Cemetery.
