Florence Layton, 90, of Benton, died Thursday, October 13. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Benton. Ms. Layton attended Pelasant Hope Baptist Church.

She is survived by three daughters, Loretta Lewis, Benton, Helen Chronister, Van Buren, Mo., Thelma Hoxsey, Granite City, Ill.; one son, Don Shaver, Dover, Tenn.; one sister, Robbye Walker, Ill.; 10 grandchildren; and several great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Edward Shaver; her parents, Charles Bryant and Annie (Harris) Bryant; and 3 brothers and 5 sisters.

Funeral service were held at Collier Funeral Chapel on October 15, Rev. Don Wilson officiated.Interment followed in the Hillcrest Cemetery, Dover, Tenn.
