Ernest Ramey “Pete” Whitehead, 64, of Benton died Wednesday, Dec. 26 at his home.

He was a manufacturing engineer for Magnavox and an environmentalist. Mr. Whitehead was a member of the Coalition for Health Concerns.

A St. Louis native, he was the son of Ernest Bush Whitehead and grew up Between the Rivers.

He is survived by his mother, Corinne Ramey Whitehead of Benton.

A graveside service was held Sunday, Dec. 30, at Ramey Cemetery in Lyon County.

Memorial contributions may be made to the environmental organization of the donor’s choice.
