Memorial services will be held for Edward, a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend, who passed away August 24, 2012. Major Freudenthal retired as a U.S. Air Force pilot after World War II, then served for years in the Air Force reserve. His ashes will be interred, with full military honors, at Camp Nelson National Cemetery in Nicholasville, at 11 a.m. eastern time Friday, April 26.

He is survived by his wife, Elma Drenan Freudenthal of Gilbertsville; children, Janet M. Collins and husband Dr. Donald Collins, Lawrenceburg, Donald A. Freudenthal, Hawthorne, Cali., Patrick L. Freudenthal, Santa Barbara, Cali and Susan K. Clendenin of Marion, Ill. and grandchildren, Matthew, Emma and Ethan Collins all of Lexington.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Emil F. Freudenthal. His parents were, Emil Louis Freudenthal and Hilde Sidonia Dames Freudenthal.
