According to records filed with the Kentucky Registry of Election Finance, Say No Now Inc., the group formed to oppose alcohol sales in Marshall County has raised more than twice as much funding for their campaign as has Marshall 1st.

As of the July 2 filing with KREF, Say No Now had reported $46,198.00 in campaign contributions, with $25,559 in total disbursements.

Marshall First reported $22,995.20 in contributions during the same period, with $22,854 in disbursements.

The report filed by both groups includes both monetary and in-kind donations to the committees.

According to George Baker of the KREF there are no limits placed on contributions to issues committees and corporations are allowed to make contributions.

Both Marshall 1st and Say No Now must file their final post-election report with the KREF by August 16.

Say No Now and Marshall First have run an active advertising campaign which has included newspaper, billboards, yard signage, radio commercials and just this week both groups began a television buy which is scheduled to run up to the date of the vote.
