Voters in Marshall County today turned down a bid to allow legalized alcohol sales after a hotly debated six month campaign. Heavy voter turnout was reported throughout the county, with over 13,000 votes cast. The No vote took a victory over those favoring alcohol sales, by a vote of 6906 to 6211. Precinct-by-precinct totals found the "No" votes prevailing in most every area of the county with the exception of the lakes area.
