Douglas Einar Johnson, 70, of Hardin died Wednesday, Dec. 12, at Murray-Calloway County Hospital.

He was born at the Norwegian hospital in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn, N.Y., to Einar Stanley and Howella McCurdy Johnson, who preceded him in death.

He worked for 40 years in sales management for several food corporations. He was a graduate of Abilene Christian University in Texas and was a member of Bammel Church of Christ in Houston and University Church of Christ in Murray.

Mr. Johnson is survived by his wife, Carolyn Pace Johnson of Hardin; daughter Annette Johnson Hand, grandson Brennan Douglas Hand and granddaughter Sophie Caroline Hand, all of Cincinnati; brothers Clifford Johnson of Old Lyme, Conn., and Mark Johnson of Houston; nieces Elizabeth Pace of Houston and Amanda Pace of Nashville; and grandniece Savanna Buckingham of Houston.

The funeral service was Saturday, Dec. 15, at Collier Funeral Chapel. Kent Sutherland, Charley Bazzell, and Richard Youngblood officiated. Burial followed at Pace Cemetery in Hardin.
