Mrs. Dorothy “June” Crider, 86, of Murray died on Tuesday, April 15 at her home after an extended illness.

She was a member of the Elm Grove Baptist Church for 60 years; teaching Sunday School for over 45 years; she was currently a member of the First Baptist Church in Murray, where she served as a substitute teacher for the Dorcus Sunday School Class, and was a member of the Pairs and Spares Sunday School Class.She was also a part of the Senior Magic Group. She was a very active member of the Women’s Missionary Union (WMU), she served as a director for over 40 years, served as the Secretary and Treasurer for the Blood River Association, as well as the WMU Kentucky Executive Board for 4 years. She also participated in the Dorothy Mission Group of WMU. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star for over 60 years, serving as Worthy Matron and served 2 years as Ohio and Kentucky Grand Representative. She was a member of the Murray Woman’s Club.

She was born in Calloway County on June 12, 1927 to the late Horace and Mae Wilkerson Williams; in addition to her parents she is also preceded in death by one sister, Lila Kondratko.

She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Albert Crider of Murray; one daughter, Kathy Crider Long and husband George of Benton, one nephew, Mickey Kondratko of Murray, two grandchildren, Eric Long and wife Jackie of Benton, Evan Long and wife Rachel of Lexington; two great grandchildren, Lucyanne Elizabeth Long and Griffin Elliott Long.

Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 19 in the chapel of the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home. Rev Keith Inman and Rev Calvin Wilkins officiated. Burial followed in the Elm Grove Cemetery.
