Donald “Don” York, 76, of Benton, died Monday, Aug. 27, at Select Specialty Hospital in Nashville, Tenn.

He was retired from TVA where he worked at Shawnee Steam Plant.

He was the son of the late Amos York and the late Lena (Hill) York.

He is survived by his wife, Nancy (Waid) York; daughters Donna Angle and Susie Groves; sons Denny York and Terry York, all of Benton; sisters Molene Rudd, Catherine Frizzell, Lorene Barnes and Nell Connor, all of Benton, and Rosemary Todd of Kirksey,; brothers Dink York, Holland York, Edd York and Bob York, all of Benton; seven grandchildren; and one great grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, and one sister.

The funeral service will be at Collier Funeral Chapel at 2 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 30, at Collier Funeral Home with Bro. Joel Frizzell and David Myers officiating. Interment will follow at New Harmony Cemetery in Benton.

Visitation will be at the funeral home from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 29.
