Dick was a 1943 graduate of Castle Heights Military Academy in Lebanon, Tenn., He served as an officer in the Civil Air Patrol and was a Captain in the Indiana State Guard.
He is survived by his wife, Anna Jane Orr Meier; son Richard Orr Meier of Benton; daughter, Kathryn Meier Wright of Bloomington, Ind.; and four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard Emil Meier and Oma Carlisle Meier; and his sister, Eugenia Lizbeth Meier Whitehead “Sissy”.
A memorial reunion is being planned for the family at a later date.
