Assist to Succeed Dental Assisting School in Benton is proud to announce the successful completion of their eleven-week course by ten area residents. Those successfully completing the course are given a certificate indicating they have demonstrated proficiency in rigorous classroom and clinical training in preparation for a career in dental assisting. The students were also provided with additional training and certification in dental radiology for taking x-rays. Assist to Succeed (ATS) is run by Alicia Colp, RDH and Christy Smith, RDH under the supervision of Dr. Jerry Sells, a Benton dentist that has been serving Western Kentucky since 1974. ATS is approved by the Kentucky Board of Dentistry and licensed by the Kentucky Board of Proprietary Education. ATS presents the eleven-week course each fall. The next class will begin August 14.

According to Yahoo careers, a dental assisting is ranked third for medical careers that don’t require medical school. The job is also predicted to grow 36% over the next six years. For more information, call Dr. Sells office 527-1479.
