Curtis Vaughan, 89, of Benton died on Wednesday, April 30 at Jackson Purchase Medical Center in Mayfield. He was retired from West KY Electric where he worked as a lineman. Mr. Vaughan was a member of Elva Baptist Church. He also honorably served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps. during World War II.

He was born Wednesday, April 1, 1925. He was the son of the late Rufus Vaughan and the late Jane (Bell) Vaughan.

He is survived by his daughter, Janice Kay Wallace, husband Ronnie of Symsonia, sister, Novalee Foley of Symsonia, son-in-law, Ray Thompson and four grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Ruby A. Vaughan, daughter: Barbara Thompson, two brothers and three sisters.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, May 3 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of the Collier Funeral Home. Rev. Mike Littrell and Derrick Coble officiated.

Interment with military honors will follow in the Clarks River Cemetery in Symsonia.
