He was a member of the Calvert City United Methodist Church, Charter member of Calvert City Fire Dept., V.F.W # 5739., American Legion Post# 236, Masonic Lodge #543, a Jaycee, and a Kentucky Colonel.
He was the son of the late Dale Hawkins and the late Grace (Calhoun) Hawkins.
He is survived by his sons, Ken Hawkins and Tim Hawkins of Calvert City; daughter-in-law, Debbie Hawkins of Nashville; brother, Howard Hawkins of Mayfield; sister, Katie Rogers of Mayfield; & grandchildren, Kendra Bristow and husband Andy and Amanda Lyles and husband Chase of Nashville.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Virginia (Calhoun) Hawkins; four brother and two sisters.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 25, at the Collier Funeral Home. The Rev, Eddie Bromley will be officiating. Interment will follow in the Dee’s cemetery in Benton.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers that contributions be made to the Calvert City Convalescent Center, P.O. Box 7, Calvert City, KY 42029, and the Calvert City United Methodist Church Memorial Fund, 571 Oak Park Blvd., Calvert City, KY 42029.
