Kyle Clark outlasted and outran his competition to take victory in the third annual Warrior stock car race at the Marshall County A&I Fair at H.H. Lovett Park Wednesday.

Clark, of Calvert City, claimed $300 for the victory in his No. K2 Dodge Neon coupe.

Clark trailed pole starter Michael Watson at the outset, but took command when Watson’s car broke a right front axle on the seventh lap of the 30-lap feature.

He led the rest of the way, but had to fend off a challenge from Justin Wilkerson of Princeton, who closed to within inches of Clark’s rear bumper but could never make an overtaking attempt on the tight makeshift oval, constructed in front of the grandstand at Lovett Park.

Wilkerson finished second and Angie Norwood of Hardin was third.

Watson and Clark won the prelminary heat races.
