She was the past president of the Kentucky Women’s Golf Association, and was a life member of the Calvert City Country Club. She was a member of the Calvert City United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her sons, Clayton Brooks, of Conover, N.C.; Charles Brooks, of Cadiz; Melvin Brooks of Cadiz; brother, Charles H. Wright of Florence, Ala.; sister, Becky Hearn of Sheffield, Ala; five grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and six great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Basiel C. Brooks, grandchild, William Alan Brooks; and 1 great grandchild. Her parents were S.B. Wright and Pauline (Pickens) Wright.
Funeral services were held at Collier Funeral Chapel on December 17. Rev. Tommy Jowers officiated.
Interment followed in the Marshall County Memory Gardens, Benton.
