Brief Closure Expected on I-24 in Marshall County on Thursday

A Paducah Power System utility crew plans to halt traffic for a brief time on Interstate 24 in Marshall County at 12 midnight Thursday, March 8, 2012.



The traffic stoppage at I-24 mile point 24.47 in Marshall County is to allow the installation of an overhead fiber optic line. This aerial crossing is near the KY 95 Overpass on Interstate 24.



Motorists should be alert for utility crews working near this site through the day Thursday to prepare for the aerial line installation starting at 12 midnight, CST, Thursday into Friday morning. McCracken County and Marshall County police agencies will assist with a rolling road block to slow and halt traffic starting around 12 midnight, Thursday. Traffic at the site is expected to be halted for only about 15 minutes or less.



Motorists who regularly travel this section of Interstate 24 between Paducah and Calvert City should be alert for this brief closure. This brief closure is schedule on a weather permitting basis.
