DRAFFENVILLE – Marshall County’s boys golf team had a pair of second-place finishes in three-way matches last week.

They were to meet St. Mary in a dual match Monday afternoon at Calvert City Country Club.

Calloway County came out on top Aug. 15 at Silos Golf Course in Kevil, 155-165 over Marshall. Host Heath finished third at 172.

Travis Griffith led the Marshals with a 37, tying Calloway’s Daniel Harper for medalist honors.

The next day at Mayfield Graves Country Club in Mayfield, Graves County took first with a 149 to Marshall’s 164. Mayfield was two strokes back in third place.

Corey Lampley led the Marshals with a 37, three strokes behind medalist Trey Whitnell of Mayfield.

A Thursday match against Graves County and Lone Oak at South Highland Country Club in Mayfield was canceled.

n The Lady Marshals came out third best Aug. 16 at Mayfield. Graves County was first at 164, followed by Paducah Tilghman at 167 and Marshall County at 169.

Cayce Hendrickson paced the Lady Marshals with a 38.

n Christian Fellowship trailed Crittenden County (178) and Reidland (197) in a match Aug. 15 at Drake Creek Golf Course in Ledbetter.

The Eagles carded 251, with Drew English’s 50 leading the way.

Crittenden’s Aaron Owens was medalist with a 37.

In girls’ individual play, Sydney Swinford of Reidland shot a 45 and Amber Shelley of CFS had a 66.
