A Wednesday morning collision in Calloway County sent two people to a local hospital for injuries. Kentucky State Police responded to the collision just before 7:30 AM at the intersection of KY 783 (Airport Road) and KY 80. The investigation shows that an SUV operated by Eva Hubbard was on KY 723 traveling south approaching KY 80. Hubbard, a Benton resident, stopped at the intersection, then proceeded across westbound lanes of KY 80. An Oldsmobile operated by Santiago Arista of Mayfield, was traveling east on KY 80. Hubbard did not see the oncoming vehicle as she crossed the eastbound lanes of the highway and was stuck in the passenger side by Arista. Arista and a passenger, Diego Perez, were transported to Murray/Calloway County hospital for non life-threatening injuries. Hubbard was treated at the scene. All individuals involved were wearing a seatbelt at the time of the collision. The Kentucky State Police were assisted by the Murray Fire Department and the Calloway County Fire and Rescue. The investigation is ongoing by Trooper Brian Duvall.
