The Marshall County Sheriff's Department is investigating the theft of six rifles from a Calvert City veterans' organization.

On Tuesday, Deputy Steven Oakley was dispatched to the American Legion Post 236. He saw that the office appeared to be burglarized. Inside, he found the safe to be standing open with locks cut.

Missing were six M1 Garand rifles with white shoulder straps. Also gone from the office was a yellow extension cord.

If anyone has information about this burglary, they are asked to call the Marshall County Sheriff's Office at 270-527-3112.
