Calvert City’s Ameribration One of the Lakes Biggest Fourth of July Celebrations



•Calvert City Community Photo Contest. vote for your favorite photo through July 6 at either CFSB, Heritage Bank or Lake Chem Credit Union all in Calvert. There are three categories: people, places and things plus Best in Show and Mayor’s choice. Cash prizes will be awarded.

•Get Fit 5K race and fitness walk took place June 23, at the Calvert City Civic Center, kids one mile fun run also took place.

All events begin at 10:00 a.m. at Memorial Park and the Old Park. Events include: AmeriBration Car Show at Old Park (free admission) Contact Shelley Brien for registration or more information. Call 703-2825. Mike Ducet is also a contact for the car show and can be reached at 703-2186.

•Shriner’s Train Ride between Memorial Park and Old Park all day (free admission) Kid’s train ride inside Memorial Park all day (free admission)

•Arts and Crafts and vendors in Memorial Park all day. Contact Mrs. Margaret Dunn to sign-up at 395-4072.

•Corn Hole Tournament Memorial Park, bring your own boards, entry fee $20, 50 percent pay back, to register call Cindy Riley at 395-5133.

•Youth and Adult Talent Show, 12 noon, whether you sing or play guitar or do a hula hoop routine we want to showcase your talent. Free admission, free sign-up. Call Cindy Riley at 395-5133 to sign up.

•Calvert City Volunteer Fire Department will spray its water wall, and have a blow-up side ride for children and an informational tent set up.

•Kids Parade sponsored by CFSB will line up in front of the pavilion stage just before 4 p.m. The kids will parade through Memorial Park, no gasoline engine powered vehicles, adults must supervise electric powered vehicles. If you need more information contact CFSB’s Calvert City banking center.

•Live band Riding Shotgun, 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. in Memorial Park

•Live bands beginning at 4:30 p.m. in Memorial Park. Both the Craig Russell Band and the Loose Gravel Band with Kalib Swift will perform. Both bands will alternate playing times with breaks for the parade at 7 p.m. and for the fireworks at 9 p.m. They will play after the fireworks program as well.

•AmeriBration Parade line-up at 6 p.m., float judging at 6:30 p.m., Parade at 7 p.m. Grand Marshals Mr. and Mrs. Bob Hulsley. Free cold watermelon in Memorial Park immediately following the parade.

•Fireworks show begins at full darkness which is about 9 p.m. and normally lasts about 45 minutes.
