Accident involving motorcycle injures two

An accident involving a car and a motorcycle on the Tennessee River Bridge over Interstate 24 Friday afternoon left two people injured. According to a press release issued by the Marshall County Sheriff's Office, a car driven by John Ryan of Chicago, Ill. began to slow due to road construction. Michael Pyatt of Bonne Terre, MO was traveling behind him on a motorcycle and was unable to slow in time and struck the rear of Ryan's car.

Pyatt was transported by ambulance to Lourdes Hospital in Paducah for treatment of injuries.

Shannon Pyatt, a passenger on the motorcycle, was transported by Air Evac to Evansville, Ind. with serious injuries.

The Marshall CO Sheriff's Office was assisted on the scene by Kentucky State Police, KSP Vehicle Enforcement, Marshall County EMS, Livingston County EMS, Air Evac, Palma-Briensburg Fire Department, Gilbertsville Fire Department and Grand Lakes Fire Department.
