GREENVILLE – Marshall County’s Lady Marshals took first place and the Marshals were third in a track and field meet featuring seven schools Tuesday.

The Lady Marshals outpointed Fort Campbell 181-164. Host Muhlenberg was third with 88 points, followed by Webster County with 78, Warren East with 50.5, Ohio County with 51.5 and Russellville with 32.

In boys’ action, Fort Campbell totaled 216.5 points to cruise to the win, followed by Muhlenberg with 120, Marshall with 95, Webster with 86, Russellville with 61.5, Warren East with 51.5 and Ohio County with 25.5.

Lady Marshal athletes claimed eight first-place finishes, led by Lauren Miller with three and Alyssa Barnard with two. Miller won in the 100 and 300 hurdles and long jump, and also had a second in the 100 meter dash.

Barnard won the 400 meter dash and triple jump and was third in the long jump

Morgan Edwards won and Kaylin Spiker was second in shot put, while Spiker won in discus and Devan Doss won in pole vault.

Bailey Greer was second in the 800 meter run and Michaela Manley took second in the high jump, followed by Sydney Goff in third.

The Lady Marshals also took third in the 4x800 meter with Rachel Northcutt, Savana Peal, Claire Waggoner and Katie Moore.

On the boys’ side, Cody Gregory took first in the long jump and Levi Sanders won the shot put, with Skyler Van Meter first in the high jump.

The Marshals boys’ 4x800 and 4x400 relay teams took first place with Kyle Barry, Hunter Hillmann, Nick Gibson, and Troy Lampkin.

T.J. Lampkin had a second place in the 1600 meter run and Trent Low was third in the pole vault.

Marshall County’s varsity and middle school athletes will compete this afternoon in a dual meet at Murray High School.

The varsity travels to Louisville for the St. X Invitational at St. Xavier High School.
