Dewey Thomas “Jack” Ringstaff, Jr. , 81 of the Sharpe community in Marshall County, passed away at 4:35 a.m. Wednesday, December 11 at his home.

Jack had worked for Modine Manufacturing, and retired from the Marshall County Board of Education’s maintenance department. He was a veteran of the United States Army, having served during the Korean conflict.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Phyllis Blakney Ringstaff of Sharpe; one daughter, Monilewis Ringstaff Hill and husband, James, of Sharpe; one son, Tommy Ringstaff and wife, Diane, of Murray; four grandchildren, Trent Ringstaff and his wife, Jessica, Chris Ringstaff and his wife, Rhonda, Tate Hill and his wife, Cathy and Jessica Underhill and her husband, Charlie; nine great grandchildren; two brothers, Don Ringstaff of Salem and Wayne “Brady” Ringstaff of Iuka; two sisters, Gladys Wood of Ledbetter and Ruby Salyers of Grand Prairie, Texas; and several nieces and nephews.

Jack was preceded in death by two brothers, Jimmy Ringstaff and Roy Ringstaff; and one sister, Barbara Burchard. His parents were Dewey Thomas Ringstaff, Sr. and Loridine Mitchell Ringstaff.

Funeral services were held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, December 13 at Filbeck-Cann & King Funeral Home. Elder Robert Chandler officiated and burial followed in the Fooks Cemetery.
