DRAFFENVILLE – Andy Pagel announced his resignation as Marshall County boys soccer head coach Monday.
Pagel has held the position for the past six years, accumulating a won-lost record of 85-41, with nine draws. The Marshals won three district championships and two regional titles.
Pagel cited personal reasons, stating in a press release from the MCHS athletic office that he wanted to spend more time with his family and working with youth soccer programs. He will continue to coach the middle school girls team.
“I’ve spent 80 percent of my energy rebuilding our feeder program, Dynamo,” Pagel said. “I feel that’s my biggest contribution to the soccer community as head coach.”
Pagel was a long-time assistant to Don Walker and succeeded Walker upon Walker’s retirement after the 2010 season.
The press release provided no information about a replacement for Pagel.
